2 Important Tips to Healthy Looking Skin
Healthy looking skin starts with consistency and your own self-conscious ability to resist the temptation of unhealthy food. This I say with 2 very helpful skincare tips in mind:
- Be diligent with your sunscreen application
- Eat for your skin’s health
- Water
- Red Wine
- Dark Chocolate
- Walnuts
- Olive Oil
- Sunflower Seeds
- Tomatoes
- Greek Yogurt
- Bell Peppers
- Coffee
I never let my clients leave my spa without applying a good amount of sun protection on their skin. Cleansing, especially one with exfoliation, can leave your skin more vulnerable to sun damage. So protect it as much as possible with broad spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 45.
Most sunscreens protect against UVB, which is what causes your skin to burn and puts you at risk for cancer. UVA, on the other hand, is the ultraviolet radiation from the sun that may cause wrinkles, brown spots, and other effects of aging. Without the proper protection, you can accelerate the process and create wrinkles faster than you’d like them to appear.
When shopping for facial sun protection, make sure you purchase a broad spectrum sunscreen. Broad spectrum protects your skin from both UVA and UVB.
Now, are you ready for the most important lesson to having beautiful, glowing, healthy-looking skin? It’s simple — eat healthy!
Ever heard the saying, “you are what you eat?”
In this case, it’s absolutely true. What you eat can affect your entire body, most importantly, the largest organ on your body, your skin.
Acne, for example, can be caused by stress, oils, and your hormones. All of these can easily be maintained with the proper diet, lots of water, and exercise.
